i've been using the bullet for years and find its "dirty" sound just what i need. some may feel that this mic is too heavy, but i don't think it is. and since shure added a volume control i like it even better. if there is one thing i could say about the bullet that needs changing, it's the cable. it is really not secured strongly into the mic and if you happen to accidentaly step on it while you're playing, you stand a good chance of ripping it right out of the microphone. if it wasn't for that, i'd give the bullet a five star rateing. jersey slim

- Rugged, dynamic cartridge with improved response
- High-impedance, omnidirectional
- Supplied with 1/4 inch connector
Applications
Connect the 520DX directly into a guitar amplifier to produce the classic blues harp sound. Use the following guidelines:
- The volume control on the microphone should be turned down before plugging it into an amplifier. As you move away from the amplifier, the volume can be turned up.
- Adjust the microphone's volume control knob during performances as needed. For example, when switching from playing rhythm to lead or to place the microphone on standby between sets.
- To avoid feedback, maintain as much distance as possible from monitors or loudspeakers. Adjust the volume of monitors or loudspeakers at the mixing console so that no feedback is present when the volume control knob on the harmonica microphone is at its maximum setting.

Awesome Sound Quality
This Harp microphone was exactly what I was looking for. It has a nice fit in the hand and is easy to hold while playing. The volume control is a must for someone who is wanting to move out front an let the harp sound fly. The quality is excellent. Now I see why this model of mircophone has been around so long and why everyone who plays seriously is using the Green Bullet.

Little Walter could play through anything...
... and still sound great. Hate to break this to you, but you're no Little Walter! Well, at least I'm not. :) I've tried cheaper mics. This one makes a real difference. It's substantial to hold in your hand, deceptively heavy. The volume control is great...I can go from playing rhythm harmonica to taking the lead very easily. If you're serious about blues harp, this is the mic you need.

A classic...
After attempting to use several other mics to play harmonica through, I finally bought one of these and have never been sorry I did. This mic is perfect for harmonica. The range of sound is great, it is comfortable and easy to hold in your hands with the harmonica, and it doubles as a decent voice microphone. In fact, I think it adds its own flavor to any sound that is sent through it. I highly recommend this mic, and this is a good price.
